Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung expands Indonesia disputes practice with hire of Prawidha Murti as partner

Leading Indonesian law firm Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung has hired disputes partner Prawidha Murti (Wida) as part of its continued expansion in Indonesia and Asia, alongside associate firm Herbert Smith Freehills.

Wida has over 20 years' experience in complex dispute resolution involving international and domestic clients and interests in Indonesia, including local litigation, arbitration, regulatory and compliance investigations, and contentious competition and employment matters.

She advises international as well as domestic clients from a wide range of sectors, including private wealth, energy, infrastructure, projects and construction, technology, media and telecommunications, finance, mining and resources, and aviation.

Wida joins Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung partner Debby Sulaiman and Herbert Smith Freehills partner Gitta Satryani to drive a thriving Indonesia-focussed disputes practice.

"Our ambitious expansion plans depend on attracting talented lawyers such as Wida," said Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung managing partner Tjahjadi Bunjamin. "Client interest in Indonesia remains at an all-time high, and her deep local and international experience further strengthens our disputes offering to those clients at a busy time."

Wida is the third partner to join Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung in 2022, following the hires of corporate partners Abimata Putra and Irfan Ghazali in May. The firm also promoted Stephanie to corporate partner in May 2022, before announcing its largest-ever round of senior associate promotions in July this year.

"This is a wonderful hire for our practice and our clients in Indonesia and beyond," said Debby Sulaiman. "Wida adds a rarely-available blend of local and international disputes expertise with an understanding of a wide variety of clients and sectors – I'm delighted to welcome her to Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung."

"Our association with Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung has never been stronger, and I'm very happy to welcome Wida to our market-leading Asia disputes practice," said Gitta. "Her skills and strengths in international dispute resolution bolster that team and add welcome local law capacity to the very busy Jakarta practice."

Herbert Smith Freehills promoted Cellia Cognard to partner and Michelle Virgiany to counsel in May 2022, as part of its own ongoing expansion in Asia. Both are seconded to Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung in Jakarta as senior international counsel.
