Michelle’s practice spans both transactional and advisory work in the financial services and technology sectors. She is recognised by Chambers and Partners as a Band 1 Fintech Practitioner and a Corporate/M&A Lawyer to Watch in Indonesia.
Michelle advises clients in the digital economy sector on investment structuring, licensing, and roll-out of new business models. She represents clients in fundraising, joint ventures, M&A and other corporate transactions, as well as commercial and business collaboration arrangements.
Her clients range from established players including banks, insurance companies and telecommunication providers to new market entrants such as e-money and other payment companies, digital platforms and cryptocurrency exchanges.

read moreMichelle graduated with a bachelor's degree in law from the National University of Singapore and a master's degree in law and finance from the University of Oxford (as a recipient of a prestigious Jardine Scholarship). Earlier in her career, Michelle worked at the Singapore and Jakarta offices of an international investment bank, providing advice on bilateral and syndicated lending, data privacy and outsourcing, and corporate banking product roll-outs across APAC. She is bilingual in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
Michelle is a member of Herbert Smith Freehills’ Emerging Technology Group. She is also the Gender Equity Matters Co-chair for Southeast Asia, and the Pro Bono lead at Hiswara Bunjamin & Tandjung.
